Only 2,665 miles since a body off frame restoration. "Resto-rod"- it retains it's original nostalgic look but is upgraded with modern performance and reliability. This is a genuine 1940 all metal Chevy. It has independent front suspension, 327 motor, automatic trans and much more.
EXTERIOR: I think it's a good looking truck, I like the lowered stance. It is restored to a high quality, it's not just a farm truck. It is all metal- the cab, hood, box and fenders. It even has rare original running boards, most have aftermarket. All the metal is clean and straight. No rust or damage. Doors fit and shut like new. The paint is polished very smooth and glossy, show quality. The paint codes will be included. better than most truck finishes. The windshield still cranks open. The windshields and door glass have been replaced. The bumpers are painted. The chrome and stainless grill looks new. The door handles have been replaced. New tailgate chains. The headlights, turn signals and taillights are original with 12 volt bulbs. It rides on radial tires with smoothy hubcaps.
INTERIOR: The inside of the cab was gutted, prepped and painted satin black. The doors are painted smooth and glossy blue. The custom seat is very comfortable, it does have seatbelts. There is a billet instrument bezel with white faced VDO gauges. It also has a tilt column with a nice aluminum steering wheel and V-8 inscribed in the horn button. The heater controls are mounted neatly under the dash along with two 12 volt receptacles. It has all new wiring with a push in fuse block. Down on the floor is a Lokar shifter, billet gas pedal and new carpet. Up above it has a custom headliner with an LED interior light and one visor (yes, old trucks only came with 1 visor).
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Rebuilt 327 Chevy small block with a flat tappet cam, an Edelbrock intake and carb, premium fuel linkage and fuel line. It also has coated headers, HEI ignition and a Powermaster alternator. Dressed up with some aluminum valve covers and matching breathers. An aluminum radiator and electric fan keeps it running cool. Everything is clean and neatly installed. Oh, it also has an aooga horn!
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The inside of the bed has black finished wood floor boards with stainless hardware. There is a plug for the battery tender and a flush mounted billet fuel filler. The inside of the bed walls are painted a smooth gloss blue.
UNDERSIDE: The body was off the frame for a complete restoration. It has it's original pristine frame, not even pitted. It has been updated with an all new Chevy II front end. It includes independent suspension and coil over shocks. It's all new- bushings, ball joints, control arms etc. New Flaming River rack & pinion steering. In back it has new leaf springs, bushings, shocks and lowering blocks. It has new dual exhaust going all the way out the back. It has a composite fuel tank relocated under the bed. The battery is also located under the bed. Rebuilt brakes with disc in front and a new power booster. Looking up at the motor it looks spotless, motor mounts and new fuel pump look new. It has a rebuilt Turbo 350 automatic trans. In back is a 10 bolt rear with 3.55 gears. Underneath the truck is clean, every surface is smooth, everything is installed neatly. It was prepped and treated with Por-15 rust preventative.
Trucks are super popular. The restoration on this one is impressive, the closer I looked the more I liked it. It is ready to be driven, that's where the fun really begins!
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail.
**These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded and you will be given a 1 year membership.

    About Volo Auto Museum
No other collector car dealer has been in business longer than the Volo Auto Museum.  Owned and operated by the Grams family since 1960.  We are the only collector car dealer that has 4 generations of experience with buying, selling and consigning classic autos.  For our family, classic cars are more than a business, it is a passion.  Over the decades, we have maintained a reputation for dealing with integrity as proven with our high reviews and A+ rating with the BBB.
Buying a classic car can be exciting, but also stressful.  We want to take the stress out of your buying experience by allowing you the time and tools you need to get to know the car you are interested in before making your investment, not after.  Unlike auctions, we allow test drives, 3rd party inspections, the use of our shop and car lift.  No reasonable request will be turned down.
Selling a car can be equally stressful, but it doesn’t have to be.  After reviewing your quality collector car, we will discuss the options we have available to you and let you decide what works best for you.  We have cash available for immediate sales and we also offer a consignment program that surpasses anyone else’s.   Unlike percentage based programs with fees; we work with a no fee, net to owner.  This allows us the opportunity to treat and market your car as if it were our own.  We invest approximately 00 of our own money into marketing your car, which means if it doesn’t sell, we lose, not you.  So, we are more aggressive in selling your car!
