This 1950 Chevrolet 3100 Pickup Truck is a beautifully restored pickup with tastefully done upgrades and southern history! Chevrolet has had a long history producing pickup trucks dating all the way back to 1918 when the GM marque first started to produce its commercial line of trucks. After a brief hiatus due to the War effort that halted production in the early to mid-40s, Chevrolet began producing trucks again in full force in 1946 utilizing mostly pre-war designs. In 1947, Chevrolet sold over a quarter million new pickups and the public continued purchasing new Chevy trucks in droves. 1948 marked the first major redesign of Chevy's truck line and that style with was carried into the early 50s with only minor incremental changes. This particular 1/2 Ton Pickup most recently lived in the nice, dry southern climate and was well taken care of under previous ownership. Under the hood on this '50 Chevy is an upgraded Stovebolt 235 Cubic Inch Inline 6 Cylinder paired with a single barrel carburetor. The "Thriftmaster" 235 Inline 6 is backed by a 3 speed manual transmission that is shifted using a "three-on-the-tree" column-mounted shifter. Upgraded front disc brakes provide this '50 Chevy with more reliable braking and are a welcome upgrade on any old car or truck. Another tasteful reliability-oriented upgrade was done to the electrical system which was upgraded from 6 volt to 12 volt, thereby providing for a more reliable start up and use of the other electrical systems in the truck. The steel box, wooden stakes, and wood bed are all in fantastic shape and a diamond-plated tool box was added as well. The chrome and brightwork around the exterior of this 1950 Chevrolet is in wonderful condition as well. The exterior has been beautifully refinished in Swift Red paint that gives the truck a stand-out exterior appearance. Riding on wide whitewall bias-ply tires on painted steel rims with Chevrolet hubcaps and beauty rings, this 1/2 Ton Pickup has a fantastic 50s look. The interior on this pickup truck is absolutely stunning! The front bench seat has been reupholstered in brown vinyl and matches the door handles. The dash, door panels, and steering wheel all appear to be in superb condition as well and all have a nice stock look. The dash is equipped with an 80 MPH speedometer, battery gauge, oil pressure gauge, temperature gauge, and gasoline gauge. A retro-style AM/FM radio was added under previous ownership so that you can listen to all of your tunes while cruising down the road. Another welcome addition is the turn signal lever that was added as well. Whether you're adding to your vintage truck collection or you are purchasing you very first classic truck, this 1950 Chevrolet 3100 Pickup Truck would make an excellent choice. Give us a call today!
