Antique Spanish Silver Chamberstick Candle Holder Palmatoria

Description

Offered for sale is a palmatoria or chamberstick from Spain, possibly Toledo.  It measures 11 inches in length.  The candleholder part is about 4 inches in diameter.  It features baroque decoration on the stem and rococo decoration on the candleholder with with scrolls, shells and leaves.  There is a pin-prick hole by one of the scrolls near the edge of the candleholder (bottom of 7th photograph).  Otherwise, condition is good.  The candleholder stands on three ball and claw legs.  On the back is a tweezer attached with a chain.  It weighs 6.9 ounces (195 grams.)  It is hallmarked with two hallmarks and a test scrape mark on the front.
