    Description

    ES Prussia Neoclassical Scene Heavy Gold Art Nouveau Border 9 1/2 Inch Plate
    Beautiful porcelain dinner sized cabinet plate. Decorated with an allegorical scene depicting two classical ladies and a man. The inner rim of the plate has a heavy gold gilt and beaded geometric design. With a border of heavy textured gold gilding and Art Nouveau floral designs in red, yellow, green, dark purple, and lavender purple.Marked on the bottom in green Prov Saxe ES Germany. This mark was used by Erdmann Schlegelmilch (ES Prussia / ES Germany) around circa 1902 and 1938.
    Has a small gilded over chip to the edge, which is probably in manufacture. Also has some wear to the gilding, but no additional chips or cracks.
    Measures approximately 9 1/2 inches wide.
