    Description

    Humongous, Handmade, Hand Hammered, Antique / Primitive / Vintage 18th - 19th Century Extra Large Apple Butter Kettle, Solid Copper Cauldron / Pot / Vat / Vessel with Iron Handle.

    Approximately 17 3/4" height with the handle down at the handle connection,
    20 1/4” wide interior diameter, 21 7/8” outside diameter and 24" diameter at the handle connection points. (Measurements taken at top/rim)
    It weighs 20.8 lbs. empty!
    One-of-a-kind, extremely old, giant copper cauldron. Please see the unique all copper handle strap connection points with copper rivets. The handle connection points are handmade and are unlike any I have ever seen! There was a repair on the bottom with possibly tin or lead solder at one time and one of the handle connection points is broken on the less critical side. (Please see all the pictures). The cauldron can still be carried empty by the handle without any problems. As with any 100-200 year old vessel, I wouldn’t use the vessel for the preparation of food unless you have it tested for lead and the handle strap repaired.
