    Description

Be sure to look at all my photos of the dolls wearing the outfits!  This is a large lot from the early 1960's, from around 1961 to 1965, with two dolls, a rare 1963 Canadian case, and many clothes and accessories, over 100 items in all.  I've  been collecting Barbie and other doll items for over five years, and I decided to offer a little bit of my collection.   Everything here is Mattel.  Some of the clothes and accessories here are in very good to excellent condition, and some of them have flaws, most of them not very noticeable.  None of the shoes have splits. If you scroll down below,, you will see a list of all the clothes and accessories with condition noted next to it.  There are some complete outfits, and some outfits that are missing one or two items.  A few are TLC with noticeable flaws, and I have noted them below.  There are over 20 outfits represented.
First the two dolls.  Here we have a blonde bubblecut Barbie with an American Girl face and white butter lips, and a titian Midge.  I think both are from around 1964.  Both have their original swimsuit and a black wire stand.  The Midge doll is in excellent condition, with no issues that I can see.  The bubblecut has some flaws -- there is some green ear, and she has  swingy arms.  Her right arm looks slightly longer than the left arm.  But she has a lot of personality, and still displays well.  Both arms are secure.  (Sometimes the sleeves of the clothes help keep the arms from being swingy.)  She also has slight rubs on both eyebrows.   Her red helenca swimsuit is in very good condition, and the black wire stand is also very good.  The Midge doll is in great condition -- she doesn't seem to have been played with much at all.  All joints are tight, and her face paint and nail paint is bright.  There are no issues that I can see, except maybe a few flyaways in her shiny red hari. Her  two-piece swimsuit is very good except for some slight raveling of the topstitching in back.  Her wire stand has a slight bend in the vertical post, but still works well.
The 1963 case is a Canadian version sold only in Canada, with some features that are not seen in the US cases.   It has an unusual press-on buckle clasp on the side, and the accessory boxes are smaller than the ones you usually see. The front of the case looks very good, but there is a split in the top layer of the black vinyl along the side where the case folds when opened.  The other side with the buckle clasp looks very good.  The buckle clasp is working well.  Inside the case, there is much wear showing.  The blue accessory drawer has tears, the white drawer is stained.  On top of the accessory drawers, a child has drawn a picture of a (I think) stovetop!
As always, your satisfaction is guaranteed or your money back, with free return shipping.  Only continental U.S. bidders please.  Please message me if you have any questions, or if you want to see any more photos!
See below for the list of clothes and accessories.
#963 Resort Set -- missing cork wedge sandals, charm bracelet
Jacket -- Excellent condition, white trim very white, smooth, no stains
Shorts -- Very good, slight age spots, a bit off white
    Visor hat -- Very good
Striped tee --- some TLC.  No holes, but ciolor is a bit dull.  Seam in back looks slanted for some reason.  Snap is secure.
#967 Picnic Set -- missing red cork wedge sandals, fishing pole & fish
Red check shirt -- Excellent condition
    Denim jeans -- Very good
Hat -- Straw & brim good, frog & flowers are there but flowers are bent & some of the petals look small. Ribbon ties have been tied into a tight neck knot.  Original length, but worn.
Picnic Basket -- Straw is worn,, edges show some where.  Otherwise good.
#973 Sweet Dreams -- missing ribbon hair tie, apple.
    Top -- Excellent
Bottom - elastic waist is stretched, the rest is good.  Tiny blue bows are both intact on each side.
Blue pompom shoes -- blue pompoms have been replaced -- not the orginal pompoms.  The rest of the shoes are very good.
Brass alarm clock -- brass is darkened, otherwise good.
Diary -- a rub on the edge, the rest is good.
    #977 Silken Flame -- complete
Skirt -- skirt is an ivory color, no longer very white.  Otherwise very good condition
Gold dimple belt -- belt is curly, but fits well around the waist, so that the curl is not noticeable when the doll is wearing the belt.  Otherwise very good condition
Gold dimple purse -- very good except pearl has lost its luster, and a slight bit of peeling around the pearl.
Black open toe shoes -- very good to excellent condition, no splits or cracks, heels straight
#984 American Airlines Stewardess -- missing white body blouse
Jacket -- No tears or holes, but a few strained threads at the armpit seams   Rest of jacket is very good.
    Skirt -- Very good
Hat with wings -- Excellent, with wires in back intact
Black purse -- Excellent, still supple
    Flight bag -- Excellent
Black open toe shoes -- very good to excellent condition, no splits or cracks heels straight
#989 Ballerina -- missing black tights, Nutcracker programme
Silver tutu -- Small tear in outer silver layer on right side of bodice.  Flowers are intact in the tulle.  No yellowing. The tutu fits VERY tight on my 1964 bubblecut Barbie but the zipper works well.  Silver is very shiny.
    Black leotard -- Excellent
Ballet shoes -- Very good, with long smooth ties.  One shoe has a tiny bit of extra vinyl around the instep for some reason, but not very noticeable.  Both shoes are off-whte but not yellowed
    Pink shoe bag -- Excellent
Silver paper crown -- shows a lot of wear, with creases.  No tears or holes though.
    #923 Barbie Acessories set from 1961-1962 --
The straw purse with pastel flowers came from this set.  There are two of those purses in this lot.  (Nothing else from this set).  One of the purses is minty, the other one is very good.
#939 Red Flare -- complete set.
Velvet Coat -- A small stain on the lower right front of the coat.  The rest of the coat is in excellent condition.
    Velvet Hat -- Minty
    Velvet Purse -- Minty
    Long white gloves -- Excellent
Red open toe shoes -- Very good to excellent, with no splits or cracks
#940 Mood For Music -- missing necklace and cork wedge gold sandals.  (I've replaced the sandals with Mattel's similar gold sandals with plastic bottoms -- see note below.)
Blue cardigan -- Small hole on upper edge of knit collar, where the collar folds -- not very noticeable since it's hidden by the collar fold.  Collar is off-white, but not very yellowed.  Rest of cardigan looks very good.
Blue velvet pants -- Some noticeable yellowing and brownish discoloration (as shown in the photos).  Zipper is working well.  No holes or tears.
    Halter knit top -- Excellent
#941 Tennis Anyone? -- missing Tennis Rules book, 2 tennis balls
Tennis sweater -- Very good condition except the color is a bit off white  Not really yellowed though.  Red trim is bright.
Tennis dress -- Very good condition, also slightly off white, but not yellowed
White knit socks -- Excellent, with no yellowing
White tennis shoes -- Very good, slightly off white, but not really yellowed.  Marked Japan.
Blue goggles / sunglasses -- Very good.  Slight bend on one arm, but no cracks.
Tennis racket -- Some melt marks in plastic, otherwise very good.  The woven tread part of the racket looks great.
    #942 Icebreaker -- complete set
White "fur" jacket -- Very good except the color is just a slight bit off white.  Not yellowed at all, just not SNOW white.  "Fur" is very full and soft, fluffy.  No hoes or tears.
    Velvet skating skirt -- Excellent
Red turtleneck body suit -- Very good.  Maybe a bit of slight fading, but not very noticeable -- still looks very red.  No holes, tears or stains
Skates -- Very good.  Not SNOW white like new, but still look very nice.
Sheer panty hose -- The bottom part, from the upper thigh down, has no runs, tears or holes.  But the upper part is TLC, with a large tear in the back of the waist, and a run going down to the upper thigh.  The TLC part is mostly hidden by the skirt, except you can see part of the run on the upper thigh on one side.
Silk Sheath Pak from 1962-63 -- I  have the light yellow silk sheath dress.  The fabric on this dress is a bit thin and worn..  There is a small area on the front bodice where the seam shows some wear, but no obvious holes or tears.
Cotton Belle Dress Pak from 1962-63 -- I have two of these dresses, one blue and one pink.  This is the cotton version of this dress, not the later silk version.  The blue dress is in very good condition -- the only issue I see is a faint discoloration along the side, where it has been creased from decades of storage.  This is not very noticeable.  The rest of the dress looks great.  The pink dress has some faint yellowish age spots, otherwise very good also.
#943 Fancy Free -- complete  This came only as a single dress, and it's in very good condition.  The white trim is still nice and white.  No holes, tears, or stains, and the colors are bright.
#987 Orange Blossom (the version with the long white gloves). I think this is the complete set.  In my photo, I do not show the tulle hat, but I DO include it. and it is excellent to near mint. You can see it in the first photo.  (I forgot to put it on the doll when I took the photo.)  The bouquet held by Barbie in that photo (wearing Bride's Dream) is actually I think the Orange Blossom bouquet.
Lace over-dress -- Excellent to near mint
Yellow under-dress -- There is a one stain on the upper front of the bodice. (When the doll wears the lace dress over this, it covers the stain.)  Also, the Barbie tag is missing from this for some reason.  I think a previous owner may have taken it out, but it is definitely Mattel.  The rest of the dress is good.
Yellow tulle hat -- Excellent to near mint.
Long white gloves -- Some light discoloration, otherwise very good.
Bouquet -- yellow streamer ribbons  are faded to ivory, but they are original length and smooth.  Otherwise very good.
White open toe shoes -- Very good to excellent, with no splits or cracks
    #947 Bride's Dream -- missing bouquet
Gown -- It has aged to ivory color.  There are some faint brownish age spots near bottom of skirt.  Also, there is a faint mark on the bodice above the right waist.  Other than these flaws the dress looks nice.  Zipper works well.
Veil -- Also aged to ivory color.  The pearl headband looks nice.  I see no tears in the tulle.
Long white gloves -- Some light discoloration, otherwise very good
Light blue garter with flowers -- Very good condition.  Elastic is not stretched out.
White open toe shoes -- Very good to excellent, with no splits or cracks.
#945 Graduation -- missing white collar and diploma.
    Gown -- Excellent condition
Hat with tassel -- Very good to excellent
(Added) Black open toe shoes -- very good to excellent, with no splits or cracks
Satin Blouse Pak from 1963 -- There are 3 of these here -- one White, one Rose, and one White. The White blouse is very good except for one very tiny pinkish stain on the back near the snap.  The Rose blouse is very good except for a place on the front where there is a small scratch in the fabric in front, not very noticeable.  The Sparkling Pink blouse shoes a bit more wear than the others, and it's slightly TLC. The fabric is a bit thin and worn overall.  The glitter dots are mostly still showing, but dull.  One of the seams in front is strained.  All three blouses have all snaps intact and working well.
Sparkling Pink Satin Pak Coat from 1963 -- This coat looks nice, with both rhinestone buttons intact and shiny, but it is missing the cord loop, that is supposed to go around the rhinestone button, Other than the missing loop, the coat seems to be in very good condition/  The glittler dots seem to be all intact on the coat.  It is not minty for the collector, but looks nice for display, if you can replace the cord loop.
Ruffles N' Lace Pak from 1964-65 -- missing the panties, bra, brush & comb.
Slip -- Very good condition except elastic at waist is a bit stiff from age.  It is not very stretched out, but not springy like it was when new.  The rest of the slip looks great.
Pink Mirror -- Very good condition.
Lovely Lingerie Pak from 1965-65 -- Blue version -- missing comb & shoes.
(The items below, except for the mirror and brush,  are the same as the ones in the earlier blue "Fashion Undergarments" #919).
Slip --  excellent condition, elastic looks like new, with no stretching
Girdle -- Slightly stretched elastic, otherwise very good
Panties -- Stretched elastic, otherwise very good
Bra -- Elastic band is very stretched, rest of bra good
#876 Cheerleader -- missing one pompom.
Sweater -- Some yellowing, and a few faint age spots, otherwise looks nice.  Red "M" letter is bright. No holes or tears.  Snap in back is secure and working well.
    Red corduroy skirt -- Minty
Megaphone -- Very good except for a melt mark in the plastic, not very noticeable.  Red "M" is very bright.  Handle is all intact.
White knit socks -- Excellent, with no yellowing
Red sneakers -- Tops look very good, but there are some rubs on the white paint around the bottom edge.  The soles show a lot of wear, with the white paint worn and thin.  One sneaker marked "Japan".
One pompom (other pompom is missing) -- TLC condition, but colors are still bright.  The wire handle is missing.  The crepe paper streamers are worn and curled.  No missing paper, just very worn!
I think that is all the items.  I will add additional info if I think of anything else.  Let me know if you have any questions about any of these, or want to see more pictures!
