Very Rare 18th C. 800 Silver Cherub Handle Cup
This is a very rare, 18th to 19th century (1700s-1800s) solid .800 silver (80% pure) fancy antique European cup/mug with ornate figural winged angel or cherub handle. Most likely from the Colonial era. Measures 2-3/4" T. Weighs 38.1 grams. Bottom stamp marked "800"in frame. Just below the rim on one side is a framed letter mark "[A]" which is either a purity/fineness mark, import mark (possibly Belgium) or date code. This mug is estimated to be from the mid-1700s but could be earlier or later. The front is hand engraved with monogram.
